Nigerian wedding cake recreation

We are a huge fan of re-creation, if you can’t afford it, simply recreate it. In this case it’s very unlikely to get a cake shipped from the UK to Nigeria, but this couple did their best in recreating Prince William and his bride Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge wedding cake for their fairytale wedding theme. The royals celebrated their love for each other today in a lavish Royal Wedding ceremony at Westminster Abbey London last April and this is the extraordinary cake that they enjoyed at the reception.

The confectionery masterpiece covered in cream and white icing and decorated with up to 900 delicate sugar-paste flowers was centre-stage at the Buckingham Palace reception held in the picture gallery. The project has left cake-maker Fiona Cairns exhausted but elated after working for five weeks on it which has tested her skills and those of her team to the limit.

And the Nigerian version speaks for itself, I commend Xquisite Pattiserie, they did and absolutely fantastic job in recreating the cake and ofcourse adding their own extra special touches.

And finally, here is the comparison to the cakes, one made in the UK and the other made in Nigeria. What do you think guys? Which is your favorite?
